BENNY BLACC OF INFAMOUS TORONTO RAP CREW SMUGGLAZ
(WWETV Toronto) Benny Blacc who made a name for himself with Toronto rap group The Smugglaz finally speaks his thoughts on the wave of new rappers in the city such as Up Top Movementz rapper Robin Banks, BFR Records rapper Pressa, and Roney who just came home from a prison sentence.
The Smugglaz had burst onto the hip hop scene in the late 90’s and early 00’s for Toronto with their classic “Street Rappers” which created a controversy at the time due to its hardcore lyrics. The song and music video hit the airwaves on MuchMusic and soon later would be the topic on Canadian television program on CBC entitled “The National” which ended up being the first ever documentary in prime time television in Canadian history.
“JANE & FINCHIN”
The two founding members of the Smugglaz are Benny Blacc and Sticky Green. They are also known for creating the anthem of their hood called “Jane & Finchin” which was apart of the movie “How She Move” on the film’s official soundtrack.
