50 Cent Admits Reason For No G-Unit Reunion Project

Hip Hop News with Wanda Davidson

50 Cent takes a comedic stance on why he is no plans on having a G Unit reunion stating he’s tired of carrying their weight. “My back hurt,” he joked.

50 Cent burst onto the scene and brought along his popular G Unit record label. It started out as a crew of hip hop artists from different areas of the United States. Fans first saw Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, The Game, and Young Buck in music videos with 50 Cent years ago when they were dominating the charts. The union did not last and 50 Cent went on to make an empire in television with his “Power” universe.  50 Cent has not really been tight with any of the crew with the exception of Tony Yayo.

It was a few days ago in an interview with Houston’s 97.9FM The Box, he talked about getting blame in the past for the artists on his label not being as successful as him.

“Yeah, I get that all the time. What’s ill is, when you’re in the seat, the driver’s seat, a lot of times, no, every time something goes wrong it’s your fault. If you ask artists why their career didn’t go the way they want, it’s the [fault of the] record label. See what I’m saying?”

He continued: “I happened to become the record label; so all of those artists that were around and didn’t do exactly what they thought they were supposed to do, it’s my fault that it didn’t. They give it to me individually now, like it’s not the company, it’s him.”

During his recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent was asked if he would ever do a project or documentary with G-Unit. “I probably won’t do a project with them,” said Fif. “I’m done with carrying them around. My back hurt.” He has a different viewpoint with Tony Yayo however,”[Yayo] is a different animal. If it doesn’t—you know what? Charlamagne, if he does something wrong, I don’t care what magnitude of it is, he’ll go, ‘My bad.’ And he’ll go, ‘Aight.’ And we just keep going ’til the next time he does something wrong,” said 50. “That’s the relationship! That is our relationship. Now, when you look at Banks, all these other guys, they came in by way of him and they have a different temperament. It’s not like, it’s not the same relationship.”

“So, I don’t necessarily go back to carrying him. Yay is different.” Don’t hold your breath for a reunion tour. Check out 50 Cent on The Breakfast Club below.
