50 Cent Praises Cosby Show’s Geoffrey Owens On “Power”

Geoffrey Owens, known for his role as Elvin Tibideaux in “The Cosby Show,” landed a role in “Power” after going viral for working at Trader Joe’s.

50 Cent’s Power and other television shows continue to provide top ratings for Starz and the New York rapper is always finding ways to expand his production empire. Fans can expect next year to continue that trend as in 2022, Power Book IV: Force is set to make its debut on STARZ. It will help shape out the other series that include Power Book II: Ghost and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
50 Cent has also utilized the star power of music stars such as  Method Man and Mary J. Blige to help draw viewers to the shows. He has also provided gigs for established television stars with decades experience such as Geoffrey Owens for Power Book II as Daniel Warren. Fans of classic sitcoms would know that Owens played the male chauvinist turned loving husband of Sandra Huxtable in Elvin Tibideaux on The Cosby Show. It’s been almost two years since a fan tried to clown the actor for having a job at Trader Joe’s after the Bill Cosby scandal hit.

“A few years ago someone posted Actor Geoffrey Owens working at Trader Joe’s trying to shame him & now this season of his life he’s on Power Book II,” a viral tweet read that 50 posted to his IG page. “I am very happy about this! S/O to everyone involved that made this happen! He’s doing a phenomenal job!”

50 praised Owens, writing, “Yeah the under dog back on Top @iamgeoffreyowens GHOST GLG,” Fif captioned the post.

Could we see Geoffrey Owens in a role in something else produced by 50 Cent? Earlier today, the rapper admitted his crush on Phylicia Rashad and his appreciation for The Cosby Show in a post where he suggested he would be attempting to revamp the show. The post included Geoffrey Owens and perhaps 50 Cent sees him playing a vital part in his “New Cosby Show” vision?
