The battle between 50 Cent and Young Buck this year has been well documented. G Unit was one of the most powerful entities in hip hop during the early 00’s, but the group did not maximize their potential according to 50 Cent.
“Some people are not built to make it, their habits and instincts will pull them right back to struggle,” he wrote in the caption. “you put them on, they fuck up the package.”
G Unit hit the scene with the debut album “Beg For Mercy”. The album sold over 4 million copies in the United States and was certified 4x-platinum by RIAA. 50 Cent bolstered his record label by acquiring acts such as Mobb Deep and MOP, but the label never reached the elite status that everyone expected.
It seems his biggest disappointment was his own crew though. 50 Cent went to on to do more clarification by calling out G-Unit by name. He seems to blame them for the lack of success in comparison to what he achieved.
“Do you realize G-unit only did 5 shows together with out me,” he added. “In 16 years, every time you saw them together it was my show. Now that’s a big bag they fucked up.” In another comment, he reiterated they messed up “the whole package.”
