Akon Talks With WorldWide Entertainment TV Flashback

Akon is a world renown artist that travels the world over entertaining fans. The R & B legend spoke with WorldWide Entertainment TV right before hitting the stage for a concert in London, England. During the interview he spoke on various topics such as his new music group Konvict Kartel and how he has never won a Grammy along with other hot issues. A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT AKON

Born as Aliaume Damala Badara Akon Thiam on April 16, 1973, Akon American singer, songwriter, businessman, record producer and actor of Senegalese descent. He rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of “Locked Up“, the first single from his debut album Trouble.

Akon describes in the video above how he helps to develop raw talent and believes in giving back to the audience that helped to make him who is today. Artists who Akon helped to put on or increased their visibility to the masses include:

Toronto hip hop legend Kardinal Offishall with hit song “Dangerous”.
Barbados born pop singer Shontelle.

AKON THE HUMANITARIAN

Akon extends his humanitarian deeds beyond just the music world. The singer has set up a charity called Akon Lighting Africa in 2014.

He opened a Solar Academy as part of his effort to bring electricity to 600 million people in rural communities across Africa with his friends Thione Niang and Samba Bathily.

Funded by a $1 billion credit line, Akon Lighting Africa has gone on to install 100,000 solar street lamps in 480 rural communities across 15 different African countries.

As Akon tells it, the forthcoming coin will serve as the currency for a yet-to-be-developed city in the country of Senegal. The “Akon Crypto City” will occupy a reported 2,000 acres of land gifted to the singer by the president of Senegal and is envisioned to be a “100% crypto-based city with Akoin at the center of transaction life.”
