ATLANTA — Atlanta police confirmed to 11Alive News that one of their officers was shot Wednesday afternoon at a midtown apartment building.
According to investigators, the shooting happened at the Solace on Peachtree apartments. The officers were responding to another call at the time.
Authorities are blocking part of Peachtree Street as they investigate. Pictures from the scene show multiple police officers responding to the area near 3rd Street. APD is asking people to avoid the area between North Avenue and 4th Street.

Police chief Rodney Bryant said the officer struck is stable and able to speak.
When officers exited the elevator of the building, that’s when the gunfire ensued. Authorities say they believe they have the other suspect that was involved in custody.
