The Island of Jamaica is known for its talented artists in the genres of reggae and dancehall. From the days of Bob Marley bringing awareness with his legendary Wailers to Shabba Ranks getting nods for Grammys in the 1990’s, the scene of the of the Island has always been in touch with hardcore music fans all over the world with influence.
This was made evident when the popular “Versuz” concept received a makeover in terms of having two artists in the same room. The showdown between Beenie Mana and Bounty Killer even had police coming to shut down the festivities due to popularity of it.

Beenie Man would go on to say, “Big up Swizz & Timz but this is what our genre face! Everybody fwd and tek piece and build up dem thing and then do everything to undermine the genre DANCEHALL where they got it from”.
