Beyoncé’s latest release The Lion King: The Gift landed her third album to appear in the Billboard 200 album chart’s top 10 since the beginning of 2019. The album, which debuted at number 2 behind Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project, boasted 54,000 in equivalent album units and 11,000 in pure sales, according to Billboard.
As The Lion King continues to rake it in at the Box Office, the Beyoncé album intended to supplement the film, The Lion King: The Gift, . The project sold a total of 53,578 album equivalent units with 11,438 of them coming from pure album sales. The 27-track effort also collected a streaming count of 50,255,527.
The Gift marks the pop superstar’s second Top 10 debut of 2019 (following Homecoming: The Live Album) and ninth Top 10 effort as a solo artist. 2016’s Lemonade also revisited the Top 10 this year.
