It was a night to remember as not only did Big Daddy Kane and KRS ONE celebrate their classic catalog, but they also put the elements of hip hop to the forefront on Verzuz.
During the 1980’s rise of hip hop to the communities of the United States, KRS One and Big Daddy Kane increased the lyrical aspect of rap. The two also made the artform of battle rap to a next level, so when it was announced that the two iconic pioneers of the genre were going to be on Verzuz it had one of the biggest nostalgic hype for the series.
Some of the greatest rap stars were on hand such as Fat Joe and Busta Rhyme to witness Kane and KRS live in action as these men were inspiration for them. Big Daddy Kane shouted out the men in attendance who he admitted to be a fan of as well. KRS One was in his battle rap mode bringing out the likes of DJ Red Alert, Das EFX, Mad Lion, into the arena as Big Daddy Kane introduced Nice and Smooth. As noted by music historian, Toure, he jumped on Twitter to state, “KRS’s carer started with battling and destroying the Juice Crew when they were the #1 crew. That made him. I’m sure he sees this as a moment to bring his career full circle and defeat a Juice Crew guy again”.
KRS’s carer started with battling and destoying the Juice Crew when they were the #1 crew. That made him. I’m sure he sees this as a moment to bring his career full circle and defeat a Juice Crew guy again. #VERZUZ

KRS ONE dropped his infamous line from Bridge Is Over diss of I finally figured it out, Magic mouth is used for suckin’, Roxanne Shante is only good for steady *&^((in'”, but it all led to Big Daddy Kane responding with a freestyle about KRS ONE being lucky that Big Daddy Kane didn’t enter their war. He proceeded to bring out Roxanne Shante by giving her the roses she deserved for putting together the “Juice Crew”.

The night also paid homage to the original “B Dancers” who gave hip hop its culture in the streets of New York in the 1980’s. Although not in their youthful stages as decades ago they still gave a show with their dancing. The two rap legends made sure to go down memory lane about their dominating days of the 80’s and 90’s, but also reiterated that they were friends who were going to be going on tour after KRS ONE proclaiming to be top 5 rappers on the planet. The fans watching the event made sure to show their appreciation for the old school legends bringing back memories of the original days of the genre.
"I never use a barbershop I got my homeboy Scoob. Chillin' out with the clippers right around the way to keep my fresh cameo cut every day."
It's amazing that I still can remember that right off top after all these years.

That Verzuz was amazing. The fact that KRS-One and Big Daddy Kane can still perform with that level of energy is just a beautiful thing to see.

HOW?! I hate what has happened to it. Not much of anything in entertainment requires skill to be successful anymore. #verzuz https://t.co/5cIywT4i1t
