The rap world has been rocked by AI as Drake covered Kanye songs and now, an AI cover of Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” featuring The Notorious B.I.G.’s vocals has surfaced.
??? But he didn’t collab. That AI ain’t biggie. Wouldn’t even be a real biggie verse. Would this count as a new genre as like Fiction Rap https://t.co/Zhi9g3TqP5

This comes after a recent interview with Snoop Dogg stating he was not a fan of the classic diss song by his friend Tupac Shakur.
The snippet was shared by Yedits, a Reddit group specializing in mixing and editing music. While the technology used created an uncanny resemblance to Biggie Smalls’ voice, it raises questions about how it could impact future posthumous releases from his estate. Meta has already hosted a Notorious B.I.G. VR concert with a “true-to-life, hyperrealistic” avatar of the late rapper performing his hits, and as AI technology evolves, there may be a way to recreate his voice to produce new records.
This AI cover of “Hit Em Up” comes on the heels of Timbaland debuting his own collab with Biggie via AI. Timbaland premiered a new song earlier this week that used AI to recreate Biggie’s vocals. While some have raised concerns about AI technology, Timbaland promised that he’s working on a solution that will benefit everyone.
Universal Music Group has called on streaming platforms like Spotify to take action against uploading AI covers, as it takes away money from the artist and label. As for the future of AI in music, only time will tell. For now, check out Biggie’s AI cover of “Hit ‘Em Up” and share your thoughts on the future of artificial intelligence in music.
