Boris Johnson has said he would not take the knee to show his support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Speaking on LBC earlier today (July 3), the UK Prime Minister said: “I do not believe in gestures, I believe in substance.”
He added: “I don’t want people to be bullied into doing things they don’t necessarily want to do.”

Boris Johnson’s comments come a month after the Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, was criticsed after he also said he would not take the knee to show his support for Black Lives Matter.
When asked if he wanted to see better black representation at the top of government during his appearance on LBC, Johnson admitted “of course we can do more”.
Boris Johnson has already come under fire on his comments regarding not taking the knee, with Labour MP and shadow secretary for justice David Lammy tweeting: “Says the man who brandished a smoked kipper on stage in the Tory leadership hustings which led to him becoming Prime Minister.”
