Brett Barnes Asks To Be Removed From Leaving Neverland Documentary

Not only do we have to deal with these lies, but we’ve also got to deal with people perpetuating these lies. The fact that they fail to do the small amount of research it takes to prove these are lies, by choice or not, makes it even worse.

The drama concerning Michael Jackson and the Leaving Neverland documentary gets another twist. Brett Barnes who is mentioned in the film has put a cease and desist order from his lawyer to the creators of the documentary. Barnes testified at Jackson’s criminal trial in 2005 — along with Macaulay Culkin — that he was never sexually abused by Jackson … and he hasn’t changed his account since. Brett also tweeted about the MJ allegations in January, calling them “lies.”

“Leaving Neverland” does include Barnes’ denial that Jackson did anything inappropriate, but only briefly in writing on the screen. Brett’s lawyers don’t believe that is enough to “cure such a despicable allegation.”

A letter was written to the CEO of HBO to remove the name of Brett Barnes as followed.

Some may be asking who exactly is Brett Barnes? In Leaving Neverland, both Robson and Safechuck claim that Jackson abused them for years when they were kids, reported The Daily Beast, and say that he brought Barnes and actor Macaulay Culkin in as “replacements” when they got older. According to the report, both Culkin and Barnes have denied being sexually abused by Jackson in the past.
