Many in the media wanted answers or statements from the NFL after the announcement that Jay Z’s Roc Nation and the NFL will team up to create entertainment ventures, news broke out that Jay Z will also become a part-owner of a NFL team.

This of course has created a media frenzy and to appease the many questions, The NFL’s Commissioner, Roger Goodell, along with Jay Z met various reporters to discuss the partnership. The Breakfast Club‘s Charlamagne Tha God, questioned Jay Z about Colin Kaepernick and whether he had a future in the league.

According to Charlamagne on his Instagram, the NFL edited questions he directly asked Goddell.

Let the record show the @nfl edited all my questions to Roger Goodell. I asked Goodell was Kaep blackballed and he said ‘No, owners can sign him whenever they want.’ I also asked him about people saying this partnership is disingenuous because Kaep doesn’t have a job, and I told him the best PR move the @NFL could do is to sign Kaep but all that’s on the cutting room floor somewhere but this post isn’t about me, it’s about the conversation being had. Like I said In a previous post…..Kaep’s protest worked and continues to work. Awareness has been raised and after awareness comes action.

Charlamagne

Carlamagne does not give any backlash to Jay Z over his latest power moves to work with the National Football League, although in the past, the rap star tried to distance himself from the sports league. There are also some who criticize Jay Z over talking to Jermaine Dupri in terms of persuading him to not do any business deals prior with the NFL.

Charlamagne made a statement regarding his support for Jay Z in this NFL endeavor.

“In order to be successful and sustain any process of meaningful change both awareness and action are necessary,” he wrote. “I don’t see why anyone would think Jay is doing this for any reason other than he thinks he can make a real change. Has he not shown us he knows how to move in a room full of vultures?
