Chris Jericho Talks AEW’s TNT Show & Fox Smackdown Results

The fall season for television stations TNT and Fox Sports have jumped right into what could be the next ratings war of pro wrestling that hasn’t been seen since the days of Monday Night Nitro of WCW going up against Monday Night Raw of WWE. The current AEW Champion is Chris Jericho who took part in both WCW and WWE during that time period and knows a thing or two about competing with a rival company. He sits down with Complex to speak about why he chose to align himself with the upstart company below.

Last night was historic for sports entertainment as the WWE premiered on prime time television for Fox Sports with their Smackdown league. The event saw Brock Lesnar regain the WWE Championship from Kofi Kingston. The event also saw the debut of Brock Lesnar UFC rival Cain Velasquez who was the MMA competitor that took the UFC Heavyweight Title from Lesnar.

Some insiders believe it was a direct response to the first episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT where former WWE Champion, Jack Swagger (now going by his real name Jack Hager), made an appearance fresh off a stint in MMA with Bellator.

Also making an appearance on Friday Night Smackdown on Fox Sports was the legendary pro wrestler turned actor, The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson, who did a segment with the Women’s World Champion, “The Man” Becky Lynch.

Also making news this week in the world of pro wrestling is the return of CM Punk to the WWE. After having a terrible fallout a few years ago, it seems CM Punk has only come back to his former company that he was champion of because of a Fox tv show that will enable him to be a host. He is under contract to Fox Sports and will be recapping shows similar to other sports shows for NBA, NFL, and NHL. He will be apart of Fox Sports magazine show for the WWE called “WWE Backstage” with Booker T and Renee Young. He discusses the situation below on two different programs.

Booker T speaks about CM Punk’s interview and gives his thoughts on a clip concerning Booker T.
