LOS ANGELES, CA / April 4, 2022 / Cinedigm, the leading independent streaming company, announced today that the Company has acquired all North American rights to the powerful documentary Broken Vows: Stories Of Separation. The film is set to release on TVOD, including Apple TV, Prime Video, Google Play, VUDU, and subscription streaming service Fandor on April 19. The socially conscious documentary, which had its world premiere at “Marina Del Rey Film Festival,” has received strong reception at festivals including Cannes International Cinema Film Festival, Toronto International Women Film Festival and the Golden State Film Festival.
Produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Sunnie McFadden-Curtis, the feature-length documentary pulls viewers into the lives of the women and children surviving through separation, and asks the question when a marriage ends, where do you begin? From exploring the challenging realities of marriage to the emotional fallout caused by separations, the stories are a raw reminder of the pain that befalls those living through it.
“My hope as a director is that Broken Vows: Stories Of Separation will create a dialogue for its audience members,” said McFadden-Curtis. “I hope those going through a separation will share this documentary, use it as a conversation starter, and when needed, always ask for help.”
As a black female filmmaker and dedicated social advocate for women and children, McFadden-Curtis tells diverse and hard-hitting stories. McFadden-Curtis’ previous projects include Bullying: A Culture of Silence, Cyber Bullying: Where Are We Going Wrong & Shane r u there? The filmmaker and her son Brennan were invited to the United States Senate to partake in roundtable discussions pertaining to ways to make schools safer through anti-bullying education. As a keynote speaker, McFadden -Curtis has also spoken internationally on anti-bullying.
