Michael B. Jordan continues to shine as star of the Rocky offshoot franchise about the son of Apollo Creed aka Adonis Creed.
Jordan stars again as Apollo Creed’s son Adonis, and also directs the film. The trailer catches viewers right away as we see Adonis reaping the benefits of his talent and hard work getting the accolades and accomplishments that come with being champion.
The past is honored as Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed are seen as icons, but a new character images in this film Damian (Jonathan Majors).
Posing as a fan seeking an autograph, Damian quickly reveals himself as Adonis’ former friend, and a standout fighter himself. Years ago, Damian stood beside Adonis during an altercation with cops; Adonis escaped, while Damian served 18 years in prison.
“We was like brothers… I was the best though,” Damian tells Bianca after she inquires what happened between him and Adonis. “I never got the chance to prove that though.”
Adonis’ invitation for Damian to train at his gym goes awry when Damian fights too hard while sparring with another boxer at practice and reveals his long-held resentment over his imprisonment.

“You think you’re mad? Try spending half your life in a cell, watching somebody else live your life,” he tells Adonis in the trailer after Adonis reprimands him. “I’m coming for everything.”
“I finally got to this place in my career where I really wanted to tell a story, you know, and not just be in front of the camera, not just execute somebody else’s vision,” he said. “And having a character that I’ve played twice before, you know it’s been 7, 8 years living with this guy, so to be able to tell a story of where I believe Adonis is at.”
“Also, at 35 years old, I had a lot to say as a young man, as a young Black man, just my life experiences and how I could actually share that, share a piece of myself with the world through these characters and through this story.”
Creed III is in theaters March 3.
My directorial debut?! Still sounds crazy to say but there's no film that has been more personal to me and no film I've felt more ready to steer. Excited to share the first trailer for Creed 3. To my cast & crew thanks for working so hard to continue the legacy of the franchise. pic.twitter.com/PSbOr2usdH
