Dave Chappelle as many may know would release his 6th comedy special with Netflix, entitled The Closer. In the special from the streaming platform he would address several topics including LGBTQ movement. To close out the special, Chappelle would announce he will stop telling gay/trans jokes.

During the special, Chappelle revealed his own story of having a friendship with a fellow trans and how it impacted his life. He let it be known that the person committed suicide eventually and it was due to people not being empathetic to others. His comedic genius extended into how his past public  relations has led some people to misinterpret his real thoughts about having equality for all people.

Chappelle also called out conflicting message of hypocrisy when it came to the cancellation of rapper DaBaby. As reported, during the summer, DaBaby caused a ruckus online after a performance at an event which he took aim at the LGBTQ community. He would go on to be blackballed and stricken from future festivals.

Chappelle pinpointed to the time DaBaby shot and murdered a fellow black person at a Wal-Mart and his career felt no negative feedback.

“Nothing bad happened to his career,” Chappelle spilling his thoughts to the audience. “Do you see where I’m going with this? In our country, you can shoot and kill a n***a, but you better not hurt a gay person’s feelings.”
