DMX’S Family Releases Statement Over Jay Z & Beyonce Rumor

DMX recorded hits songs with a plethora of artists over his career such as LL Cool J, Ma$e, Jay-Z, The Lox, Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim, Faith Evans, and more.

The death of the rap star has left the world of hip hop mourning, but it has also caused rumors to start circulating. The movie star of Belly, Romeo Must Die, and Cradle 2 the Grave has social media in a buzz about what will happen to his music now death. The rapper recorded his last album to completion mere weeks ago which will surely be a huge posthumous release.

A rumor started picking up steam that Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter bought X’s master recordings in order to have the children get the finances of the vintage hop hop music.

Swizz Beatz, who has worked with DMX’s music has come out to deny the rumor that The Carters were involved in a plan to purchase those masters. The close friend of DMX commented “Not true king” under an Instagram post about the story. The surviving relatives of DMX also addressed the matter.

A statement according to TMZ from Earl “DMX” Simmons’ family reads:

There have been a few rumors following our loved one, Earl Simmons’ passing that we’d like to clear up. No one has bought Earl’s masters. Additionally, we are not selling any merch or raising money for Earl’s funeral. If anyone is requesting for money for his funeral please be aware the person is a scammer. We will keep the public posted on funeral/memorial service arrangements.
