DMX’s Funeral Costs Covered By Def Jam Reportedly

DMX’s funeral cost over $35,000 and it’s being reported that Def Jam Records footed the bill.

Following X’s death on April 9th, Def Jam released a touching statement, describing him as “a brilliant artist and an inspiration to millions around the world.”

Def Jam Records is an institute in hip hop being the industry’s first true label. Many artists of legendary stature have graced through the company’s history and of course DMX’s catalog is one of the best on the roster.

He would become a huge star in entertainment for his music and got acting gigs due to his popularity. DMX would star in action blockbusters and recently recorded his last studio album “EXODUS” for the label. According to report by TMZ, Def Jam covered the entirety of DMX’s funeral bill, which came out to a reported total of $35,228.13.

The total expenses as billed to X’s family include the transportation of his coffin, embalming, the red casket, the hearse, and flowers. The documents reveal that the distinctive casket cost a total of $7,450.

The event was star-studded and many of his peers such as Nas, Jay-Z, Kanye, and more showed up to pay their last respects. The expected entourage of Ruff Ryders appeared to make statements as well such as Eve, Swizz Beatz, and The Lox.
