Drake Teases Retirement Thoughts With Lil Yachty Interview

Drake has been dropping albums and mixtapes for over a decade with dominance, but now it may be time for a “graceful exit.”

The Toronto rapper let the world know what was on his mind in an interview with Lil Yachty.

“I think I’m at the point now where I just wanna like — I feel like maybe we talked about this the other day. I feel like I’m kinda introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit,” he said in the first clip from their chat shared on Thursday (February 23).

This is not the first time that Drake has talked about a pending retirement from the rap game. At one point he said he wanted to retire by 35, but that time came and passed.

Drake joined an episode of Nicki Minaj’s Queen Radio in August 2022 where he said he wasn’t ready to hang it up just yet.

“I’m not at that point where I even consider that being an option,” Drake explained to Nicki. “One of the best feelings I have in my life is completing a song or project. And by the way, those things are painful as well. A lot of nerves, a lot of confidence wavering.

“But I feel like I’m reaching a new level of fun. I’ve reached a new level of comfortability where I want to try things. Like this last album, I put out something I wanted to do to challenge myself.”
