Popular Youtube content creator, Ralph Smart, takes a look at the advancements of Artificial Intelligence technology.
With statements such as movies were once about real life situations, but now it’s real life that is about movies. He was speaking about the scary coincidence of the movie “White Noise” being released on Netflix weeks before real life tragedy in the United States.
ChatGPT is a machine learning-based system designed to generate human-like responses to natural language prompts. It’s trained on large amounts of text data using techniques like deep neural networks, which enables it to understand and generate text in a wide range of styles and topics.
When asked a question or provide a prompt, it analyzes the input and generate a response that it believes is appropriate and relevant to the given context. It can provide information, answer questions, generate text, and perform other tasks, depending on the specific requirements of the request.
Ralph Smart also talks about the deepfake technology that allows creators to imitate real humans such as Morgan Freeman. It may look like Morgan Freeman, but the real star is voice actor Boet Schouwink who could make you think the actor is actually speaking. This particular deepfake was most likely created with the help of a generative adversarial network (GAN).
GAN basically creates new images from the latent representation of the source material, and then trained to determine whether or not the image is generated. Once the training period is complete, the generator can produce fake images with high fidelity that in many cases pass as real. This is also the reason why deepfakes are difficult to combat since they constantly evolve, as any time a defect is determined, it can be corrected.
Some people have great concern over this technology and how it could effect propaganda or misinformation from causing worldwide tragedy. Below is a deepfake of former President Barack Obama.
