Donald Trump commuted many persons on his last day in office as the president of the United States. He included some popular hip hop figures such as Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.

There are many that are happy to see their favorite rappers will not be doing anymore jail time, but there are people who feel Trump could have given pardons to more deserving political prisoners such as Mutula Shakur or Assata Shakur.

Lil Wayne actually met Donald Trump during the presidency and his lawyer has admitted that their connection may have helped Trump to pardon the iconic rap star.

In showing appreciation for the pardon, Lil Wayne hit up social media and let the world and Trump know he is grateful for the act.

I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen
for working so diligently to secure another chance for me. Love!

Some of the Cash Money Records legend fans left their commentary about the whole situation. One follower stated that he believed that Weezy sold out.

Other followers believed that Lil Wayne played number 45 for the pardon when he gave him the endorsement during the election campaign.
