Fat Joe Responds To Backlash Over 2Pac & DaBaby Comparison

LEGENDS & ICONS OF HIP HOP - Post By Kevin Douglas

Fat Joe has got himself into heat with fans after comparing DaBaby to Tupac by complimenting the controversial rapper as closest rapper of today to 2Pac.

The iconic BET hip hop series, Rap City, made its big return to the air earlier this month with the Rap City ’21special. A segment from the show which has gone viral has been Fat Joe’s guest appearance in an interview with Big Tigger.

During the broadcast Big Tigger asked Fat Joe to play a game and name the 2021 version of some of Hip-Hop’s past legends, including Jay-Z, Lauryn Hill, and even Tupac. Fat Joe was given the question of who is the “2Pac” of this generation. DaBaby was the choice of Fat Joe which garnered a negative response for the most part by fans.

Tupac Shakur is one of the most beloved artists in the history of the genre, so any answer would have upset a portion of fans who still admire the legend. Fat Joe who is also a historic figure in rap, took his backlash with his stride by jumping on Twitter to explain his answer further.

On Tuesday evening, Fat Joe stated that “No ones 2pac there’s only one.” He also explained saying, “but i was asked the question and da baby a super real one he lives what he raps about.”

Despite Joey Crack trying to clear the air on the topic, fans have still been roasting the hip hop artist on social media for the comparison. Check out some of the funnier reactions below.

Fat Joe has been ridiculed in the past for his comparing legendary artists with the stars of today. When the “Lean Back” rapper proclaimed Drake as the “Michael Jackson Of This Generation”, he also felt the wrath of social media for the most part mentioning Drake with the “King Of Pop”.
