Grammy Nominations Include 21 Savage, Meek Mill, & YBN Cordae

2019 saw the hip hop world with some gems. The Grammys are recognizing some of the best work of the year in 21 Savage and Tyler, The Creator, albums of i am > i was and IGOR respectively. YBN Cordae surprisingly received his first nomination in the category for The Lost Boy as a relative newcomer to the industry. The nominations also extend to Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III and Meek Mill’s Championships, which was not eligible for last year’s ceremony.

The Recording Academy also announced the nominations for other categories.
Lil Nas X’s 7, Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You, and H.E.R.’s I Used To Know Her picked up AOTY nods. All three performers were also nominated for Record Of The Year (“Hard Place” — H.E.R., “Old Town Road” — Lil Nas X Featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, “Truth Hurts” — Lizzo).

In addition, LNX and Lizzo are up for Best New Artist. That category includes Black Pumas, Billie Eilish, Maggie Rogers, Rosalía, Tank and the Bangas, and Yola.
