“Harriet Tubman” Biopic Trailer Starring Cynthia Erivo

Harriet Tubman’s biopic has many people talking after the trailer dropped online today. The American icon will be played by Tony winner Cynthia Erivo. The film will trace the life of the heroic abolitionist who freed the slaves using the Underground Railroad.

Also portraying characters in the film will be Joe Alwyn(slave owner), Leslie Odom Jr. (Philadelphia-based abolitionist), and singer Janelle Monae playing Marie(free black woman). The star of the movie went on twitter to make the statement of making Harriet Tubman proud with her performance.
