(WWETV Network) Host Brooklyn takes a look at the history of Roxanne Shante’s rivalry with MC Lyte that shook the rap world in the early 1990’s. It all started at the “Sisters In The Name Of Rap” historic all female ppv event in 1991. Roxanne Shante who paved the way for female rappers did not take to kindly that hip hop artists such as MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, and Yo Yo made certain demands such as top billing, set length and order of performance. During the event Roxanne Shante being the battle rapper she was known for did a song entitled “Dance To This” which on the surface came off as a pop song, but in actuality was a diss towards the woman on the show. She ended her set by making a huge statement.

Ain’t no bitch in the house that can fuck with this!

Roxanne Shante

She declared “Ain’t no bitch in the house that can fuck with this!” and later dropped the diss song “Big Mama” and the rest is history.

The two iconic rappers recently came together for a picture ending the decades long rivalry.
