Hulk Hogan is one of the most popular figures in American pop culture from the 1980’s. As pro wrestling entered the age of cable television, Hulk Hogan along with the then known World Wrestling Federation conquered the wrestling world to become the dominant force in the industry that it is today
To many people today however, Hulk Hogan is known for making a racist rant (unbeknownst to him as it was recorded without his knowledge) which cost him his position in the WWE Hall Of Fame as Vince Mcmahon’s company wrote him out of the history and fired him.
After years in exile, the WWE restored Hulkamania and its record smashing feats such as slamming Andre The Giant in 1987 and facing men who have passed away such as “Macho Man” Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior. Hogan has made a public apology and also a company wide apology for his rant. Arguably the greatest pro wrestler to ever live did a phone interview with WWE Hall Of Fame wrestler Booker T on his podcast.
Booker T is a friend of Hulk Hogan and also one time made a slip using the “N-word” during a wrestling promo before a match. He used the term to acknowledge Hogan during the interview at the time which raised eyebrows back in their WCW wrestling days. The two talk about that incident and more below
