Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Instagram page had come under attack by people asking why the New York rapper was allowed to have an IG account. The issue some stated was that the parent company of Facebook has strict terms concerning convicted sex offenders being banned from using its platform. It will stay up and running after a Facebook review despite renewed uproar over his criminal record because the platform feels he hasn’t violated their rules.

The controversy surrounds 6ix9ine’s legal trouble when he was 18 years of age and before he got famous. He plead guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance.
TMZ is reporting that Facebook and Instagram say Tekashi 6ix9ine is NOT technically in violation of FB/IG’s sex offender policy.

Since Tekashi 6ix9ine was adjudicated as a “youthful offender” and not as an adult with a criminal conviction, the company believes he is not in violation of their rules. Tekashi (whose real name is Daniel Hernandez) does not appear on the state’s sex offender registry.

The crime in question? Prosecutors say Tekashi had physical interaction with a 13 year old girl at a party which was recorded was at a party she was performing sex acts on a man. 6ix9ine was seen thrusting behind her and slapping her buttocks at one point.
