Issa Rae Comedy Series ‘Rap Sh*t’ Coming To HBO

Issa Rae is moving on from Insecure to another series ordered by HBO entitled “Rap Sh*t”.

Fans of Issa Rae’s Insecure series were sad to know that the popular show was coming to an end. She had jumped on social media a few weeks ago to confirm the final season announcement that circulated online.

“Very excited to film our fifth and final season!” Rae wrote on Twitter. “We couldn’t have told a complete story without the tremendous support of our audience and the faith of @HBO. See y’all soon!”

HBO Max has ordered an eight-episode half-hour series that will focus on estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Yung Miami and JT of City Girls will be co-executive producers who will work with Issa
Rae who has seen tremendous success as an Emmy nominated producer. She will write the new series pilot. She will also be the executive producer with HOORAE’s Montrel McKay (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Jonathan Berry (Insecure) and 3 Arts’ Dave Becky (Russian Doll).
