It’s been a long winding road for Houston rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, in having her debut album getting released later this week. She took her music label, 1501 Certified Entertainment and Carl Crawford, to court earlier this week because she claimed that her music was being withheld for release.
She won the court battle to have her album released, but in court documents she name dropped J. Prince. He has released a statement regarding his name being mentioned in the dispute.
“Megan [Thee Stallion], along with Roc Nation Employee Geetanjali Grace Lyer decided to include my name in a lawsuit wrapped around lies and stupidity. We gone get this shit straight,” wrote J. Prince on Instagram, explaining his side of the story in length.
Prince believes Megan Thee Stallion got the battery put in her back from major labels. “This is the same technique of the culture vultures. I didn’t allow this to happen to me when New York and LA record labels attempted to take my artists- so they labeled me as malicious for fighting back,” wrote Prince. “I didn’t allow it then so I damn sure ain’t gonna allow it to happen to 1501 Records or any of the other independent record labels that I’m associated with.”
J prince went on to say that he makes money and doesn’t let money make him. He stated how Crawford spent thousands of dollars on Megan to help her career and didn’t have any problems with him originally, but now sees him as the devil.
