“As an African-American, I want to say that we’re more than just athletes and music artists. … We’re CEOs,” Jon said.

“This man is a CEO and Chairman,” said Jay-Z of Platt, who first signed him back in 1997.

“Most people in the music business lead with their ego. Jon leads with his heart.”

The wife of Jay Z and one of the biggest stars on the planet gave a special performance for the man of the honor. When Platt spoke he had nothing but good things to say about her husband.

“Puff said something which resonated with me: ‘Don’t be afraid to close your eyes and dream, then open your eyes to see it.’”
