John River delivers new music with “Chapel Hill,” but we take a look back at his emotional tribute to fellow Toronto rapper, Redway.
Award-nominated Canadian rapper John River has been through a struggle in recent years as public attention shifted from his music to his struggle to navigate Canada’s healthcare system. However, he is now back with new music and doing what he loves best.
A few years ago, he was mourning the passing of his friend, Redway, who was also an upcoming hip hop artist from the city of Toronto. “Redway was known for being a passionate artist who was always striving for greatness, pushing the boundaries of always believing in your visions and dreams which led to the creation of the BLVD (The Belief Leading Visions & Dreams),” the management company said in a statement released to the Toronto Star.
In the video above, WorldWide Entertainment TV was on sight to capture the live performance of John River. It took place at the annual MNFSTO event, as rabid audience saw River deliver an emotional performance.
