The 5th episode of Shea Marie’s Diva & Vixens Podcast is Kandy K “From The Vault,” as WorldWide Entertainment TV archival footage is retrospected through past interviews and coverage of the Toronto female rapper and singer.
She first was interviewed by WWETV Toronto at the second Youtube Space event held by WorldWide Entertainment TV Network in 2016. At the time she was signed to hip hop artist, Flo-rida, record label IMG. During this time period, she traveled around the world touring with live concerts along with meeting some of the biggest acts in music at the time.
Kandy K broke down who she felt were the women who paved the way for artists as herself as you can see in the clip below. She made mention of rap legends Salt ‘N Pepa and current icons paving the way such as Nicki Minaj.
Kandy K would eventually go independent by 2018 and have another interview with WWETV Toronto with Brooklyn. The two women spoke on the many issues women face in the entertainment world. Kandy K made sure to give advice to other women trying to get into the industry and what to look out for in terms of ups and downs.
The R & B singer also explained her time with Flo-rida and showed appreciation for the opportunity she was given. The female rapper talked about some of the best advice she was given by artist OT Genasis. Brooklyn had asked if she was ever approached for acting or modeling and she gave a surprise answer of being the lead women in Tory Lanez short film.
REALITY TELEVISION DEBUT
The rapper would end up on an actual reality tv series entitled “Little Women Of Atlanta,”, but not without controversy. Kandy K and Tiny Twinz had united to make a song together, but things took a left turn. A few choice words in the studio was not taken lightly by the Tiny Twinz.
Despite the controversial segment, Kandy K still remains one of the top female rappers from the city of Toronto. Check out the Shea Marie Diva & Vixens Podcast Episode 5 From The Vault Retrospective at top .
