The new album DONDA from Kanye West is not officially released and it is already breaking records in the industry. Despite not following through with the promised Friday release of his latest project, fans still got to listen to the record at a special event held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Fans got to hear what the album will encompass as surprise guests such as Jay-Z, Pop Smoke, and Lil’ Durk appeared on singles from the album. It was a rare sight to see fans anticipation for every single that played without any performance from any of the artists apart of the project. Kanye West appeared in the center of the stadium decked in red with a mask covering his face to the delight of his audience. The location was sold out to hear the Donda album with 40,000 people in attendance.

It was reported that Kanye West is temporarily living at the stadium to complete the album. He plans to ride the wave of last week as millions more took in the night on their laptops,desktops, or smartphones to hear the latest from the iconic rap star.  According to TMZ, the DONDA listening party shattered Apple Music’s Global Livestream record with upwards of 3.3M viewers. The record was previously held by Gucci Mane and Jeezy’s “Verzuz” last year who had 1.8M viewers on Apple Music in total.

The disappointed fans who expected to download the Donda album last week will have to wait just a little bit longer. Kanye West is finishing the last touches with production quality and who knows what other surprises. Justin LaBoy who said Kanye West’s new album is set to release on August 6th.
