It was believed that Kanye West removed himself from the 2020 elections after receiving national poll numbers earlier this week. However, TMZ reports that the billionaire rapper has not officially dropped out of the 2020 presidential race. Kanye has taken official steps to run by filing with the Federal Election Commission.
Yeezy filed the first form required by the FEC, the statement of Organization, declaring that the Kanye 2020 committee will serve “as the Principal Campaign Committee” with the 43-year-old rapper as its candidate. The party is listed as BDY, which stands for “Birthday Party”. Kanye now has to file the second form required to run, which shows he’s raised or spent more than $5,000 in campaign activity and triggers candidacy status under federal campaign finance law.

Some believe Kanye West is wasting his time and has no chance of winning the elections. He has already missed the deadlines to run in several important states, including Florida, South Carolina.
