Kanye West may have been cancelled by a portion of society for his antics, but he has earned his ninth consecutive No. 1 Billboard 200 album. This puts Kanye’s latest project Jesus Is King tied with Eminem’s streak for the longest in the chart’s history.
Nielsen Music has the album at number one with roughly 264,000 equivalent album units for the week ending October 31. Approximately 109,000 of those were pure album sales. while other numbers mostly consist of streaming numbers.
Kanye West’s streak started back in 2005 and has last until 2019, but his debut album which is the critically acclaimed “The College Dropout” in 2004 only achieved the number two position.
