The long wait for the decision of Kawhi Leonard has led to him announcing he will be joining the LA Clippers. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Leonard would be leaving the Raptors to join the Los Angeles Clippers on a four-year, $142 million max contract.
Paul George is also the newest member of the LA Clippers. The organization traded a record-setting bounty of picks away to the Thunder.
Stephen A Smith declares the move to be epic. He believes the trades acquired to receive Paul George comes down to Lebron James being in the same city with Anthony Davis over with the Lakers. It should also be noted that Stephen A. Smith wanted the NBA Championship out of Canada in 2020.
Adrian Wojnarowski talks with SportsCenter to elaborate on how the Toronto Raptors were in trade discussions with the Oklahoma City Thunder to potentially send Russell Westbrook and Paul George to the Raptors in efforts to resign Kawhi Leonard. However, the Raptors did not want to give up Pascal Siakam to the Thunder. Wojnarowski also breaks down what went into the Clippers being able to sway Kawhi Leonard into leaving the Raptors for the Los Angeles Clippers.
The talk is now that Kawhi Leonard may have saved the NBA by not going to the Lakers. The Clippers went to great lengths to acquire Kawhi Leonard and is now in very strong contention for the NBA Championship.
