Back in 2015, Cardi released a song that contained an instrumental by UK iconic female rapper, Lady Leshurr, which had them in a back and forth on social media.

Leshurr replied, “[Crying laughing emojis] would b nice but tbh I just wanted my credit & it’s mad I had to tweet banter 4 a response when I dm u years ago about it. I was cool wen I thought it was just YT cover but it’s on streaming sites as ‘cheap azz weave’ nw & urs comes up b4 mine so yes dollar & credit pls [purple heart emoji].”

Hours later, Lady Leshurr went on social media to clear the air about people speculating that she did this for clout. The UK hip hop artist stated, Ppl thinking I’m doing this for clout is crazy to me. I’ve never done nothing in my career for clout check my history but I will always speak up for what is right I tried the professional way got air bantered and got response remember I’m Queen troll u meanies can’t done me.”

The tagging of Cardi B to get her message didn’t stop as she continued, “I was independent when this dropped! My ppl reached out to urs years later no response..Maybe diff label then? The principle is the song was uploaded w/ diff title without my knowledge & being sold, any1 that samples a song needs to reach out 2da artist not the other way round no?”
