Lil’ Kim reacted to Breakfast Club host Angela Yee posting a clip trying to revive a nine-year-old interview clip.
Starting off in the mixtape scene in New York with Fendi under his “Come Up” series. Eventually the New York rapper would sign with Lil Wayne’s YMCMB label and usher in a new wave of mainstream hip hop artists along with Drake in 2010.
Nicki Minaj would take a break from music to start her family with marriage to Kenneth Petty. His past issues were once again brought to the forefront with Jennifer Hough’s sexual assault allegations that made the rap star get unwanted headlines. Another past issue that was reignited was the beef with Cardi B. The debate on who is the top female hip hop artist was once again the talk of rap when both Halle Berry and Winnie Harlow proclaimed each rapper to be the queen of the industry.
In a recent Facebook post, Angela Yee, a co-host and staple on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, posted footage from am interview with Lil Kim. In the interview, Kim explains her beef with Minaj, and claimed that Birdman and Cash Money didn’t want her near the then-upcoming superstar. It appeared to be the origin of the beef between the New York rappers.
However, the clip Yee posted is nine-years-old, as Lil’ Kim was quick to point out and she let Yee know she did not agree with trying to stir up any old beef.
“Why are we bringing this up, this interview is how many years ago?,” Kim commented on Yee’s Facebook post. “Like really Angela Yee??? This sh*t is WACK but go Viral!”
During the BET Awards red carpet earlier this year, Lil’ Kim admitted that she was interested in having a Verzuz showdown with Nicki Minaj. Maybe the two women can put their differences aside and do it for the culture.
