Lil’ Kim was interviewed during the red carpet of the annual BET Awards for the year 2021 and stated she was willing to do a Verzuz with rival Nicki Minaj.
The event is a cultural event that all eyes pay attention to and Breakfast Club personality DJ Envy got the honors of interviewing artists appearing on the red carpet pre-show. He was able to speak to the legendary female rapper, Lil Kim, who was happy to be at live events again.
Last night saw the Verzuz event that had the showdown between Bow Wow and Soulja Boy. Lil’ Kim was asked whether or not she was a fan of the event. In previous months, fans have been anticipating possible match-ups for the event and DJ Envy asked the big question if Lil’ Kim would take the challenge of facing someone at the event.
Surprisingly, Lil’ Kim was game for the competition by admitting she was willing to step into it with Nicki Minaj.
The two rap icons first met backstage at a Lil Wayne concert, but both tell the story differently. Nicki says that she asked Kim if everything was cool with them, but Kim responded; “Picture somebody saying to me, ‘We good?’ I’ll ring her throat, snatch her larynx out.”
The first time there was beef or a subliminal thrown at one another was rn the remix to Diddy’s ‘Hello Good Morning’, Nicki raps “Did I kill a queen?” – is she talking about “Queen Bee” Lil Kim?
Has time healed all wounds? The Verzuz between these two would definitely be history and highly likely to be record breaking. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland who are the creators of the platform would salivate if they could book these two women for a future “Ladies Night” edition.
Some fans have already reacted to the statement by the hip hop legend on Twitter below.
Lil Kim wanted to start mess at the BET AWARDS and just become relevant again, I hope Nicki declines so she don’t make lil Kim relevant again #BETAwards

The night will also pay tribute to one of the pioneers for women in rap in Queen Latifah. The New York rapper is expected to participate in the showcase as fans have caught a glimpse backstage with Lil’ Kim.
