Lord Jamar brings Canadian hip hop legend, Maestro Fresh Wes, to promote his latest show of Maestro Chef Wes and to speak on being the foundation of Canadian hip hop.

Lord Jamar discovers that Maestro was making hip hop records before his run with hit songs like “Punks Jump Up” and how he opened up for Beastie Boys. He showed praise for Boogie Down Production and their impact on the early days of rap in Toronto with artists such as Michie Mee.

Maestro revealed his Guyanese background which is similar to Lord Jamar, who discovered through ancestry on is father’s side.

Maestro Fresh was ecstatic to find out Lord Jamar appeared on the classic Electric Circus with his group Brand Nubian in the early 90s. Check out the hour plus long broadcast in the video above.
