Lord Jamar Says Black People Don’t Listen To Eminem

Eminem Slim Shady
Eminem

Eminem is regarded by many people as one of the greatest rappers ever. There is even a small contingency who proclaim him as “The Greatest Of All-Time”, but there are detractors of this claim. One of them is Lord Jamar who has been vocal over the years about not falling in line with others in terms of how they perceive “Slim Shady”.

Lord Jamar admitted that he doesn’t like talking about Eminem. He doesn’t think Eminem is anywhere near the top of the list when it comes to the best MCs.

My thing about Eminem and all that, and I hate bringing his fucking name up — my thing about this mothafucka is you can’t crown somebody king and circumvent the true kingdom. Like white people will crown Eminem king because he sold the most records out of all rappers, but when we go into every day life of black people, people who are the originators of this shit, we don’t fucking listen to Eminem. We don’t listen to Eminem.

Lord Jamar

Lord Jamar did agree with the interviewer that Eminem can put words together as the host questioned Jamar about his dismissal of Eminem.

Can he put words together? Yes but that’s not all that hip-hop is. Who gives a fuck if the content is shit? Who gives a fuck how good he can put cat, rat, bat, hat together? If you’re talking about smacking your mother and taking pharmaceutical pills and the shit that doesn’t resonate with me, why do I care how good you can rap

Despite the thoughts of Lord Jamar, it seems Eminem keeps on rolling with the hits. His latest collaboration is with Logic for the single “Homicide” which has become Eminem’s twenty-first top ten song on the Billboards, but more importantly, it is the twelfth song from the massively successful rapper to debut on the Hot 100 according to Forbes.
