The modified NBA playoffs due to the covid-19 pandemic caused a new format to be laid out for the league. The defending Toronto Raptors lost their championship claim tonight when the Los Angeles Lakers added another championship to their storied legacy.
Led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers outlasted the Miami Heat in six games in the 2020 NBA Finals to pick up the franchise’s 17th title, tying them with the Boston Celtics for the most all-time.
The night also saw Clinching his fourth championship in his 10th appearance in the Finals. LeBron became the first player in NBA history to win the award with three different teams and now stands alone behind Michael Jordan (6) for most Finals MVPs in NBA history.
