Mary J. Blige celebrates her 51st birthday and was born in Yonkers, New York along with the iconic DMX. The two legends grew up with Yonkers icon Hip of XFMS.

As we break open the vault, we take you back to an exclusive interview that breaks down their history from the perspective of a fellow Yonker native that actually befriended them. Interview is conducted by none other than Yonkers 1st Lady aka Ms. Goldi.

During the interview, Hip also speaks about his own history and what it was like living in Yonkers during the 80’s and 90’s with the rise of hip hop culture. In 2021, Amazon Studios released the trailer for R&B singer Mary J. Blige’s latest project — a documentary called “Mary J. Blige’s My Life.” The new documentary, which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on June 25, reveals the difficult circumstances Blige dealt with in her childhood and early life that eventually inspired the content in her seminal 1994 album, “My Life” (via New York Daily News).

Mary J. Blige recently released new music and also talked about it being some of the best of her career.

The “Queen Of Hip Hop Soul” is also currently acting on the popular television series “Ghost,” that is apart of the “Power” franchise. In Power Book II: Ghost She acts alongside fellow artist, Method Man, who plays a crooked lawyer. Fans of the stars will remember their classic duet from the 90’s entitled “All I Need.” Blige is a drug queen that held it down for her man that was imprisoned, but on last week’s episode, her husband Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) has been released from prison. To further complicate things, Monet has been having an affair with her high school sweetheart Mecca (Daniel Sunjata). Mecca is also the Tejadas drug supplier.
