Mary J. Blige is a veteran artist who has seen it all. She came up during the hey day of BadBoy Records and witnessed hip hop beef such as Tupac vs Biggie and how that ended up tragically. Through the years the two artists have been linked together by rap fans. It seems that scenario of always comparing one to the other is now happening with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.

This duality carried over to the Grammys when even BET dragged Nicki Minaj, while supporting Cardi B’s “Hip Hop Album Of The Year” accolade. Mary J. Blige chimed in on the situation by stating:

We’ve suffered enough amongst a male-dominated society, a male-dominated business, and we’ve suffered enough amongst each other. So when you see us trying to do something, at at least try to bring us together, at least try to lift us up together
