September 13th goes down as a night of infamy in the hip hop world due to the murder of one of the most celebrated artists in the genre’s history. The rap star was in heat with rivalries from the streets to the music business. At the last major event he attended in 1996, Tupac spoke to Master T, about being snubbed for an award that was eventually given to Coolio for the song “Gangsta’s Paradise”.
Unbothered by the lack of award, Shakur continued to explain his current situation at the time with legendary Toronto Veejay, Master T, who was apart of major broadcasts concerning urban music for Canada’s MuchMusic television station. It would become the last televised interview that Tupac Shakur ever did.
Master T speaks below in an interview with Art of Dialogue about the historic interview.
