(WWETV Network) #OldSchoolSaturday Artist of The Week for WorldWide Entertainment TV is Maxine Jones of the legendary En Vogue music group. Witness her 1st hand account about her trials and tribulations in the music industry on “Herb Middleton’s From The Ground Up” Reality Series that will debut on new streaming service Vu-Me.
Maxine Jones is a founding member of En Vogue and is one of the best selling female R & B groups of all time. She has sold over 20 million records with En Vogue in her 25 year career.
She has been nominated and won awards for her talent including two American Music Awards, a Billboard Music Award, four MTV Video Music Awards, and four Soul Train Music Awards.
She was lead singer on “My Lovin You’re Never Gonna Get It” from the 1992 “Funky Divas” album peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the R&B chart. She was also lead on a collaboration with iconic rap group Salt ‘N Pepa for the single “Whatta A Man”.
The group’s biggest hit came on the heels of the movie release of “Set It Off” which starred the likes of hip hop royalty in Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Maxine Jones would also act alongside Jada Pinkett-Smith in the classic 90’s NBC sitcom “A Different World”. Her acting did not stop there as she also appeared on Fox Television shows “Roc” and “In Living Color”.
Maxine names Chaka Khan as her major musical influence. Her musical influences include Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Patti LaBelle.
She will appear on producer Herb Middleton’s From The Ground Up Reality Series and you will see every step that she will continue that soul music worldwide.
