The album’s title track was the first time many Canadians’ ever heard Jamaican patois in mainstream rap. It was a landmark event that would open doors for inspiring artists in the urban market as she opened eyes to the infancy stages of the hip hop scene north of border.
Michie Mee garnered a Juno nomination for ‘Rap Recording of the Year’ for her celebrated 1991 debut album Jamaican Funk, Canadian Style.
