What a way to have your #WCW feature today. The iconic Missy Elliot has become the first female rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The artist known for songs such as “Get Ur Freak On” and the classic “Lady Marmalade” with Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Pink, and Mya joins Jay Z and Jermaine Dupri as the only rappers to be acknowledged in the entity. The Associated Press broke the news earlier today about this outstanding artist who has worked with the likes of Aaliyah, Beyoncé, and Ciara.

The ceremony will take place June 13th, 2019 in New York City. A songwriter is eligible after 20 years of being in the business. Missy Elliott was chosen in the top 5 draft pick for the old school by WWETV writer Venom recently.
