Nelly and Kelly Rowland reach a billion views with their classic”Dilemma” on YouTube.

Nelly has made huge hits in the past that are still raking in good numbers til this day.  His 2000 debut album is one of the very few rap albums to hit the diamond certification level. Kelly was apart of one of the most successful girl groups of all-time with her other members Beyonce and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child. Now the two who created the single “Dilemma” are adding another milestone to their storied careers.

There have been classic scenarios with hip hop artists collaborating with rhythm and blues songstresses in the past. Fans never forgot the time when Yonkers Mary J. Blige teamed up with Long Island’s Method Man of the Wu-Tang Clan for the single “All I Need”.  In the 1990’s, fans picked up where the sample for the single came from. It was a throwback to a Motown classic between Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s single “You’re All That I Need To Get By”. However, despite the popularity of those two songs, it never reached the status that Kelly Rowland and Nelly have obtained.

The two now join other top streaming artists on the youtube platform such as Eminem, Nicki Minaj, and 50 Cent.  Nelly acknowledged the achievement with an official statement, as reported by HipHopDX.”It is both humbling and what every artist hopes for, to see your work from 20 years ago still getting such love from fans old and new,” reflects the rapper. “Super dope that a song made before YouTube existed is getting so much support now and shout out to Nelly fans and to my girl Kelly Rowland who helped make this song a hit when we made it and still a hit today!”

Back in the day naturally people assumed love was in the air. Both camps denied the rumors, and Kelly said back then: “Nelly and I are not dating. He actually has been a friend of Destiny’s Child for two years. Nelly’s like a big brother.”

Congratulations to Nelly and Kelly Rowland.
